Mackmin to direct 'Di and Viv'

Anna Mackmin ("The Real Thing," "Dancing at Lughnasa") will helm "Di and Viv and Rose," the new play by thesp-turned-scribe Amelia Bullmore. Their previous collaboration on Bullmore's "Mammals" won the debuting playwright the 2006 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, the annual kudo awarded to distaff, English-language legit scribes.Running Sept. 14-Oct. 15 in the downstairs space at London new writing venue Hampstead Theater, the play stars Claudie Blakely, Tamzin Outhwaite and Nicola Walker and is designed by Paul Wills.Bullmore's other plays include a new version of Ibsen's "Ghosts" premiered by Mackmin at London's Gate theater. She also acted in the ensemble of Matthew Warchus's Tony-winning production of Alan Ayckbourn's "The Norman Conquests." Contact David Benedict at benedictdavid@mac.com
